Erin McCoy serves as a Senior Associate at Blue Star Strategies, LLC, where she supports clients within the firm’s U.S. and European portfolios.

Erin offers valuable policy insights and expertise to clients representing a diverse range of sectors, including healthcare, biotechnology, energy, agriculture, and finance. With the objective of identifying strategic opportunities for clients to achieve their objectives on both sides of the Atlantic.

Before joining Blue Star, Erin consulted during her time at Johns Hopkins SAIS for the Department of South and Central Asian Affairs in the U.S. Department of State, where she conducted field research in Sri Lanka aiming to advance the role artificial intelligence plays in credit scoring algorithms and its effects on women’s economic participation in the region. Erin also interned in the Operations Center at the U.S. Department of State, as a member of the Crisis Management and Strategy team, and in the Office of South and Southeast Asia in the U.S. Department of Treasury.

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Erin received a Master’s in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she focused on Security, Strategy, and Statecraft in South Asia, spending her last semester working on a capstone project with the Google Policy Team. Prior to SAIS, Erin completed a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies concentrating on global inequality and development from American University in Washington, DC. She has also studied in Bologna, Italy, at the SAIS Europe Center and the London School of Economics.

Erin is fluent in English and proficient in French, during her leisure time she enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and sewing her own clothes.
