Julieta Gomez is a Director at Blue Star Strategies, LLC, where she operates across diverse client portfolios spanning the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. In her capacity, Julieta is responsible for formulating customized public affairs strategies tailored to meet the unique requirements of each client. In addition, Julieta provides guidance to both public and private sector entities, equipping our clients with the knowledge and insights necessary to make informed, optimal decisions.
Prior to joining Blue Star, Julieta served as an advisor in Colombia’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, facilitating communication between the ministry and diplomatic missions, multilateral organizations, and international organizations. During her tenure in the Colombian Federal Government, Julieta also contributed to the implementation of Colombia’s Peace Agreement and contributed to the USAID/USDA ‘Cacao for Peace Program,’ which focused on strengthening the premium cacao value chain along Colombia’s Caribbean coast.
Julieta also assisted Fundación Centro Histórico de Cartagena de Indias in Colombia, where she led COVID-19 response efforts and devised strategies to preserve the city’s architectural and historical heritage. She effectively coordinated the production and donation of over 10,000 face masks to underserved communities through partnerships with local nonprofits and government agencies.
Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, Julieta holds a Master’s in Public Administration from American University in Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. She is fluent in English and Spanish and has basic knowledge of Italian, during her leisure time, she enjoys playing tennis and is an amateur beekeeper.
