Global Fairness Initiative Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Global Fairness Initiative came together in New York City to celebrate the organization’s 20th anniversary. Founded in 2003 by its President, Karen Tramontano, GFI’s mission is to promote fairness and equity in the global economy for workers in the informal economy.

Danilo Turk, former president of Slovenia, currently chairs GFI’s Board of Directors. President Bill Clinton served as GFI’s founding board chair from 2004-2008 and was succeeded by former president of Costa Rica, José María Figueres.

Sally Painter, has served on GFI’s Board of Directors for the past decade.
