Washington, D.C. — September 10, 2025 — Blue Star Strategies, LLC today announced that Hector Schamis has joined the firm as Senior Advisor.
Dr. Schamis previously served as Special Envoy and Senior Advisor to the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS). He is a seasoned strategist and advisor at the highest levels of international organizations and governments, with a distinguished career spanning democratization, human rights, economic development, and international security.
A respected academic and thought leader, Dr. Schamis has taught at prestigious universities and built a strong reputation as a commentator on Latin American politics and international affairs. In addition to his academic research, he is also a prolific public intellectual, writing regularly for ABC (Madrid) and a variety of media outlets.
He has served as a weekly columnist and op-ed editor at El País América (Madrid), and his work has been widely published in outlets including The National Interest, Excélsior (México) Clarín, Infobae, La Nación(Buenos Aires), El Nacional (Caracas), Semana (Bogotá), Confidencial (Managua), and La República(Bogotá and Guayaquil), among others. He is also a regular analyst for CNN and NTN24 television networks.
