Julieta Gomez is a Senior Associate at Blue Star Strategies, LLC where she works on client issues in the United States and in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining the firm, Julieta served as an advisor in Colombia’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. In that capacity, she was a key point of contact between the ministry and diplomatic missions, multilateral organizations, and international organizations and collaborated with government agencies to support implementation of the country’s Peace Agreement. She also worked for the USAID/USDA “Cacao for Peace Program” where she was part of the team working to strengthen the premium cacao value chain along Colombia’s Caribbean coast.
Previously, Julieta worked at Fundación Centro Histórico de Cartagena de Indias in Colombia, where she led the organization’s COVID-19 response efforts and designed strategies to protect the city’s architectural and historical heritage. During her time there, she coordinated the production and donation of more than 10,000 face masks to underserved communities around the city through partnerships with local non-profit organizations and government agencies.
Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, Julieta received a Master’s in Public Administration from American University in Washington, DC and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. Julieta is fluent in English and Spanish and has basic knowledge of Italian. She enjoys playing tennis and is an amateur beekeeper.
