Doug Campbell

Managing Director

Doug Campbell is Managing Director at Blue Star Strategies, LLC where he works on a variety of client issues.​

​Prior to joining the firm, Doug spent 27 years on Capitol Hill in the U.S. Congress, including 12 years as deputy staff director of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. In that role, he advised the chairman and other members of Congress on a wide range of foreign policy, national security, and international economic issues. He successfully developed and executed strategies to achieve key policy priorities on a bipartisan basis and developed close working relationships with diverse stakeholders in Executive Branch agencies, private sector, foreign governments, think tanks, and the NGO community.​

Before coming to the Committee, Doug served as legislative director for Congressman Howard L. Berman of California and worked as an international trade analyst at the U.S. Department of Commerce.​

Born and raised in southern California, Doug received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.A. in International Relations from Yale University. He is married with two daughters and enjoys hiking, sailing, and international travel, having visited more than 80 countries for work and pleasure.​
